Escape. Restore. Expand.
Wake up with yoga as the sun rises. Walk, swim, or hike into wild nature. Share meals made with love. Flow back into evening practice as the day settles. End with music, sound, or just starlight.
Under the Sun Retreats are built on simple rhythms – movement, nature, food, community. It’s not about fixing or transforming. It’s about giving yourself space to feel good, to connect, and to experience life with a little more joy. And… a whole lot of fun!
Join us anywhere the sun shines.
Maspalomas was our starting point, and we return there each year. But now our journey spans vineyards in South Africa, islands of Vietnam, 15th century villas in Verona, wild coasts in Crete, and barefoot beaches in Albania.
Not just yoga.
We start and close each day with yoga, but the real experience unfolds in what happens in between.
Rooted in place.
Every retreat is shaped by its landscape, food, and people.
Curated community.
You don’t just book a trip; you join a circle of like-minded travelers who return again and again.
Space to feel.
No talk of “fixing” or “healing.” Just space to explore, breathe, and be. Wherever you join, you’ll find the same welcome: come as you are, ready to share in something unforgettable.
Why Choose Under the Sun?
SUN & NATURE
From pink beaches to mountain trails, every retreat is shaped by its landscape. Yoga at the Core. Morning and evening sessions with carefully chosen teachers set the rhythm of the day.
MORE THAN MOVEMENT
Breathwork, sound journeys, and playful practices add new dimensions. Our retreats are about feeling good, having fun, and rediscovering what really matters – together, under the sun.
COME AS YOU ARE
There’s no one way to do this. Whether you want to energize, recharge, or simply enjoy – the space is yours.
GATHER, EAT, CONNECT
Food is at the heart of our retreats. Days start with fresh, nourishing brunches and end with long-table dinners under the stars. Our menus draw from local kitchens – Mediterranean harvests, Cape winelands produce, Asian spices, island flavors. Always seasonal, mostly vegetarian, always delicious.
Expect plenty to share, plates that surprise, and a rhythm of meals that bring people together. It’s not just about what’s on the table – it’s about the conversations, the laughter, and the friendships that grow around it.
Your sanctuary wherever the sun takes us
From island fincas to mountain villas, beachside bungalows to vineyard hideaways — each Under the Sun retreat home is chosen with care. Every location holds space for connection, for quiet, for laughter. Spaces where yoga flows easily, where meals stretch into stories, where nature is just outside your door.
Find your tribe. Find your mojo. Find your good times.

Neil Roake
Co-host | Chef
“After my December retreat at Aya House, I knew I wanted to gather a group and share this special place. I’m a creative working in the world of design but have made the joy of cooking, travelling, and eating good food one of my side gigs. The food I will be cooking will be inspired by my latest book called ‘Castaway,’ which focuses on island food. I’ll dive into the local Canarian food culture, tickle your fancy with some Asian flavour bombs, island-hop through the Greek islands, and it will all culminate in our farewell celebration feast on the last night. Only good vibes, hot food, and chilled drinks. I look forward to meeting you.”
Bianka Duka
Co-host
Bianka Duka was Neil’s first true yoga teacher – the one who made him believe in yoga as a science of the mind. Her practices are diverse and always rooted in mindfulness, embracing connection, fun, and often a banging soundtrack.
As she likes to say: “We are human beings, not human doings.” With Bianka, yoga becomes a space to simply be – alive, aware, and joyfully present.
